Job Summary: Packing Helper (Germany)
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Packing Helper to join our logistics and warehouse team in Germany. As a Packing Helper, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the packing and preparation of goods for transportation, ensuring that all products are handled with care and are ready for safe shipment. Key Responsibilities in Detail:
- Packing and Securing Goods:
- Carefully pack goods and products into boxes, crates, or other containers using appropriate materials such as bubble wrap, foam, or padding to ensure items are secure.
- Ensure products are packed according to customer or company standards, including size, weight, and fragility considerations.
- Verify that all packaging materials are of good quality and adequately protect the contents during transport.
- Labeling and Documentation:
- Attach correct shipping labels, product codes, or barcodes to packed items for accurate identification.
- Cross-check packing lists or shipping orders to ensure the correct items are being packed and dispatched.
- Assist in preparing documents related to shipping, such as packing slips, invoices, and shipment tracking information.
- Loading and Unloading:
- Assist with loading packed items onto trucks, containers, or pallets for shipment.
- Unload goods from delivery vehicles or containers and assist with storing them in the correct warehouse location.
- Organizing the Warehouse:
- Help maintain an orderly warehouse environment by arranging products and packaging materials neatly in their designated areas.
- Ensure that all items are properly stored to prevent damage or misplacement.
- Participate in regular stock and inventory checks to ensure all products are accounted for.
- Quality Control:
- Perform visual inspections of products before packing to identify any damages, defects, or inconsistencies.
- Report damaged goods or incorrect items to the supervisor for proper resolution.
- Assisting in the Shipping Process:
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure that products are dispatched on time and according to customer or company schedules.
- Help monitor and track shipments to ensure they are delivered safely and on time.
- Maintaining Safety and Hygiene:
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and the use of protective gear such as gloves or safety shoes.
- Keep the packing and shipping area clean and organized, disposing of waste materials like cardboard or plastic wraps safely.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and participate in safety training as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience:
- Prior experience in packing, warehouse operations, or logistics (preferred but not mandatory). On-the-job training is often provided.
- Physical Stamina:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 kg or more), stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions if working in outdoor loading areas.
- Attention to Detail:
- Strong focus on ensuring all items are packed correctly and safely, with close attention to packing lists and shipping labels.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors. Basic knowledge of German or English for communication is required.
- Basic Math and Organizational Skills:
- Ability to count and verify inventory, pack items correctly, and help with maintaining organized storage spaces.
- Flexibility:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and overtime, when required to meet shipping deadlines.
